DEMENTIA-PLAN Advances Personalized AI Support for Dementia Care
September 3, 2026 Health SciTech researchers have introduced DEMENTIA-PLAN, an agent-based framework designed to support people living with mild-stage dementia through personalized, context-aware, and emotionally responsive conversations.
The system combines multiple knowledge graphs representing daily routines and personal memories with a self-reflection agent that dynamically adjusts how information is retrieved. The goal is to provide responses that are both factually grounded and sensitive to each person’s needs and emotional state.
The work was developed by Yutong Song, Chenhan Lyu, Pengfei Zhang, Sabine Brunswicker, Nikil Dutt, and Amir M. Rahmani.
